Karen was appointed joint Managing Director of Kudos in March 2019. Since then, the company has achieved a number of greenlights, including Ben Chanan’s eight-part darkly comic thriller Then You Run (Sky); Steven Knight’s global hit SAS Rogue Heroes (BBC One), the upcoming This Town (BBC One) which launches in early 2024; Sean Buckley’s award-winning Responsible Child (BBC Two); as well as a number of as yet unannounced commissions for terrestrial and streaming platforms. From the collaboration with Steven Knight has come a creative partnership and first look deal which has culminated in the launch of the Knight-Kudos label, based in Birmingham, which joins sister label Kudos North as part of the company’s commitment to making world class drama series from all corners of the UK.

 

Karen first joined Kudos in 2001 to script edit the first series of Spooks, and since then her many credits as Producer and Executive Producer have included iconic Kudos series such as Hustle, Utopia and The Tunnel. Karen began her television career at World Productions, as part of Tony Garnett’s development team, before working as a script editor across dramas including This Life, Undercover Heart and The Bill.
