Kudos (part of Banijay UK), the leading producer behind world renowned shows including Peaky Blinders, House of Guinness and SAS Rogue Heroes, is further investing in its ambitions for a thriving West Midlands scripted production hub by backing Senti Films, the production company set up by Birmingham based writer/producer/director Rem Conway.

Kudos have an established West Midlands base with Kudos Knight; the creative partnership launched in 2022 with preeminent writer Steven Knight which Conway joined in 2023 as Development Producer. Kudos Knight was behind Knight’s RTS Best Drama winning series This Town and was established to generate a thriving drama production pipeline from the West Midlands, to nurture local talent and to invest in skills and training for the area.

Rem has been developing his own slate for TV, film, theatre and digital for several years, championing underrepresented, local voices and this deal will accelerate the growth of the business and see Kudos coproduce with Senti Films on green lit scripted projects. Rem will continue in his role at Kudos Knight alongside developing his own projects under Senti Films.

Martin Haines, Co MD, Kudos said:

“Rem is a hugely talented producer, who is doing brilliant work in developing Kudos Knight’s slate, and we want to simultaneously support his own creative ambitions in the region. We see Rem’s work with Senti as complimentary to the ambitions of Kudos Knight and a positive development for the creative industries in the West Midlands.  We are excited to see how his slate develops.”

Rem Conway added;

“I’m ridiculously excited about this partnership. Senti was built to offer a creative home to talent where they are genuinely trusted, backed and given the freedom to be ambitious. Too often, I’ve witnessed incredible voices held back by a lack of access and long-term support, and we all so desperately want to see a more inclusive industry. Senti Films exists to actively push that change forward. Having Kudos on board is a huge vote of confidence, giving us the backing to think bigger, move faster, grow our slate and build something bold that can innovate the mainstream - and the cherry on the cake is that it’ll all be done from Brum!”

Senti Films already has a project in funded development with a major broadcaster with other ideas gaining early traction.

A Birmingham native, Rem began his career in theatre production before making the transition to film and TV. A writer, producer and director, his production credits prior to joining Kudos Knight include Netflix’s Sex Education, BBC’s My Name is Leon, ITV’s Our House and ITV/Amazon’s Riches

Kudos’ investment in Rem Conway’s Senti Films is a strong move toward strengthening the creative pipeline in the West Midlands. Strategic funding like this not only supports emerging filmmakers but also boosts regional production capacity and long-term industry growth. Expanding infrastructure and nurturing talent can create new opportunities for storytelling and collaboration. In many ways, it’s similar to digitizing a logo for embroidery—where careful planning, precision, and the right technical process transform a simple design into a polished, production-ready result. With the right backing and vision, Senti Films is well positioned to elevate regional filmmaking and contribute meaningfully to the UK’s evolving screen sector.
